If you are using a wireless router with your BBNET Broadband connection, you can connect your iPhone direct to the wireless network :
(Screenshots below are based on iPhone 3GS but should be broadly similar for all models of Apple iPhone)
- First, make sure that wi-fi is enabled on your iPhone.
- Go to the Home screen by pressing the home button or by unlocking your phone
- Touch the Settings icon
![]()
- Look to the right of the Wi-Fi icon. If a Wi-Fi network is listed, you’re already connected. Otherwise, touch the Wi-Fi icon.
- If Wi-Fi is “OFF”, touch the Wi-Fi toggle to turn on Wi-Fi.
- Once wi-fi is enabled on the iPhone, you should see a list of available wi-fi networks that you can join. Touch the name of the network you wish to connect to:
- If the wireless network has security enabled, you will be asked to enter your password at this stage. If your wireless router was provided by BBNET, your security password should have been provided with the router or at installation. Enter password, which is case-sensitive and touch the “connect” button at the top right hand side corner of the screen.
- If you have successfully connected to the wi-fi network, you will see a tick beside the network name on your network list, but will also see the wireless symbol on the top of your iPhone as show below:
